Visit the Jesse Ball Dupont Park and take a stroll under the historic Treaty Oak. In order to save this historic oak, Jesse Ball Dupont bought the area surrounding it in 1948 protecting the now over 200-year-old tree. While the story behind the oak was possibly fabricated in order to save it, the park is still an oasis in the midst of bustling downtown Jacksonville. Enjoy a picnic or relax and read your favorite book in the shade of the historic Treaty Oak this summer.
